A hologram is a trick of light that makes a flat picture look like a real, 3D object floating in space.

Imagine holding a clear sheet of glass. When sunlight hits it, you see a faint reflection. A hologram works by using lasers to record how light bounces off an object. It captures every angle. When you look at the final image, your eyes see depth, just like looking at a real apple or your hand. You can move your head and see different sides of the image. It is not a flat photo. It is a volume of light.

Think about looking through a window. You see the room behind the glass. A hologram is like a window into another scene. The light beams cross and mix together. This mixing creates the illusion of depth. You feel like you could reach out and touch the image. It is like looking at a soap bubble. The bubble is thin and see-through, but it shows colors and shapes that look solid. Holograms use this same principle of light interference. They turn flat surfaces into floating pictures.

This technology helps doctors see 3D body parts and lets artists create floating sculptures.
