Can a person survive on blood in place of water?

A person cannot survive on blood instead of water because blood is not the same as water.

Imagine you're drinking from a cup. If the cup has water, it's like giving your body a drink that helps everything work smoothly. But if the cup had blood, it’s more like drinking juice with extra stuff in it, like tiny pieces of skin and red cells, but not enough to keep you going for long.

What Blood Needs to Do

Blood is important because it carries things around your body, like oxygen and food. But even though blood has some water in it, it also has other parts that make it thicker than water. Think of it like a shake instead of plain juice, it’s still drinkable, but not as easy for your body to use.

What the Body Needs

Your body needs water to stay hydrated and keep everything moving. Without enough water, you can’t think clearly, your muscles won’t work well, and eventually, you’ll feel tired and sick.

So even though blood is cool and does a lot of jobs, it’s not the same as water, and you can't live on it like you would on a glass of water every day.
