When you get less for the same price, it feels like someone took a bite out of your favorite snack, that’s shrinkflation, and now people are saying “No more!”
Imagine you buy a big bag of cookies every week. One day, you open it up and find there are fewer cookies inside, but the price is still the same. That’s shrinkflation, companies make the product smaller or less full, but keep the price the same, so it feels like you’re paying more than before.
What can be done?
Sometimes, people get tired of this trick and decide to do something about it. They might talk to friends, write notes to the store, or even tell their parents. If enough people push back, like a group of kids all saying “No more!” together, companies might listen and make things bigger again.
Or maybe you can try another snack altogether! Sometimes, when one bag gets smaller, there’s a different kind of cookie that's still full and happy, and maybe even cheaper!
So next time you see a smaller package, remember: it’s like someone took a bite out of your favorite treat. But with a little teamwork, you can say “No more!” too!
