How did Israel lose the support of the Democratic Party?

Israel used to be really close friends with the Democratic Party in the United States, like best friends who always stood up for each other.

But recently, it's been like they had a big fight and now don't talk as much. Why? Well, some people in the Democratic Party started to feel like Israel wasn’t being fair in its arguments with Palestine, especially about land and homes.

It’s like if two friends were arguing over who gets to sit in the best spot on the bus, but one friend kept saying the other was being mean. Soon, some of the other kids on the bus started to take sides with the kid who felt left out.

Also, Donald Trump, a big friend of Israel, became president, and that made Israel feel even closer to him. That reminded some people in the Democratic Party that they had been arguing with their old best friend for a long time.

So now, it's like the Democratic Party is trying to find new friends, and Israel is looking for other friends too, but they might still be friendly again someday!
