Imagine you're coloring with crayons. If you color a sun in yellow and then add red on top, it might look like the sun is burning brighter. Painters do something similar to make colors glow, they layer paints so that light bounces around inside the paint, making it feel like it’s shining from within.
Examples
- Using layering techniques, a landscape artist makes a sky look like it’s glowing from within.
- A portrait painter uses multiple layers of white paint to make someone's face look soft and luminous.
