Robots learn to walk like kids learn to ride bikes. At first, they fall over a lot, but each time they try again, they get better. They use sensors on their feet and body to tell them how well they are doing, then adjust their movements until they can stand up straight and take steps.
Examples
- A baby robot takes its first step and wobbles a lot, but keeps trying until it stands up straight.
- A robot falls over while walking but gets back up and walks more steadily the next time.
- A robot learns to walk by playing around with different ways of moving, just like children learning to ride bikes.
