A monarch uses special people to help them make laws, just like how you use your friends to help you build a sandcastle at the beach.
Imagine the monarch is like the big boss of a giant game, and the laws are the rules everyone has to follow. But the big boss can’t remember every single rule, that’s where special people, called members of parliament, come in!
How Laws Are Made
The members of parliament talk about what should be added or changed in the rules. They have a special meeting, like when you and your friends meet to decide on new game rules.
If everyone agrees with the new rule, it becomes part of the law, just like how you agree on the number of buckets of water each person gets in your sandcastle game!
Sometimes, the big boss can say “yes” or “no” to a law too. If they don’t like a rule, they might change it, just like when the game leader decides that everyone has to wear sunglasses during the game!
