How Does a ‘Neuron’ Send Messages in the Brain?

Neurons are like tiny messengers in your brain. They send messages by using electricity and chemicals! When a neuron is excited, it sends an electrical signal down its length, which causes the release of special chemical messengers called neurotransmitters at the end. These then cross over to the next neuron and start the process all over again, like a relay race!
