Glow effect is how screens make bright colors look like they are lighting up, just like a nightlight in a dark room.

Imagine your tablet screen is a window. Behind that window, there is a special panel that holds tiny light bulbs. These are called LEDs. Normally, these lights shine white, but we want colors. So, we place a colored filter over the window. This filter is like a piece of colored cellophane. If you hold red cellophane up to a white light, only red light passes through.

When you see a "glow," the screen is making some of those tiny lights shine very bright. Think of it like turning up the volume on a radio. When the volume is high, the sound feels bigger.
