Protein synthesis is like building a toy from instructions you get from your friend.
Imagine your body is like a factory that makes toys. The instructions for making a specific toy come in the form of genes, which are stored inside cells, like little rooms where the work happens. These genes tell the factory what kind of toy to build, and they're written in a special language called DNA.
How the Factory Gets the Instructions
First, the instructions from the DNA have to be copied into another language so the workers can understand them. This new version is called mRNA, like a note your friend writes for you telling you how to build the toy.
Building the Toy in the Factory
Then, special workers called ribosomes, think of them as tiny builders, use the instructions from the mRNA to put together the toy piece by piece. The toy they're building is a protein, and each piece is like a amino acid, which are like different colored blocks you might use to build something.
The ribosomes keep reading the note until the whole toy, or protein, is complete, and then it goes off to do its job in your body!
