Your body has special tools to break down different foods. Just like a toy set needs different pieces, your stomach and intestines use different helpers, called enzymes, for each kind of food. Carbs are broken into sugars, proteins turn into amino acids, and fats become tiny oil droplets.
Examples
- Eating a piece of bread feels light because it's mostly carbs, your body breaks them down easily.
- A steak takes longer to digest because proteins need more time and different enzymes to break them apart.
- Fatty foods like cheese make you feel full for hours, as fats are harder for the body to process.
