How does the internet remember things?

The internet uses special helpers to remember things, just like you use a backpack to carry your toys.

Imagine you have a big toy box in your room, every time you play with a toy, you put it back in the box so you can find it again later. The internet has something similar called a server, which is like a giant toy box that stores all kinds of information.

When you type a question into a search engine or click on a link, your computer sends a message to these servers, telling them what you want. The servers then find the information and send it back to your computer so you can see it on the screen.

Each time something is added to the internet, like a new picture, video, or game, it gets stored in one of these special boxes (servers). They remember everything because they have lots of space, just like how your toy box has room for all your favorite toys. So next time you go looking for that same picture or game, the server knows exactly where to find it and brings it back to you.
