Why It Doesn't Burn Out
Imagine a giant ball of hot gas. The Sun is huge, and its own weight pushes down from all sides. This gravity squeezes the middle until it gets super hot and dense. Inside, tiny particles called atoms smash together. When they join, they release nuclear fusion. This process creates light and heat.
Think of it like this: If you squeeze a sponge, water comes out. The Sun squeezes atoms to squeeze out energy.
A normal fire needs oxygen to burn. If you put a lid on a candle, it goes out because the oxygen runs out. The Sun does not use oxygen. It uses its own stuff. It turns hydrogen into helium. This is fusion.
The Sun has been doing this for billions of years. It has plenty of fuel left. It will not run out for a long, long time. So, the Sun is not "burning" in the way wood burns. It is glowing from the pressure and heat of the squeeze.
