It’s like asking how many times kids jumped into a pool to play, but from the ocean!
Life moving from water to land
Imagine you're playing in a big, deep pool. One day, you decide to go outside and run around on the grass. That's what happened to some tiny creatures living in the ocean, they climbed out onto the shore and started exploring the land.
This is called terrestrial life, meaning life that lives on land instead of in water. Scientists think this happened at least two times, like two different groups of kids jumping out of the pool to play on the grass.
Why it matters
Each time, these creatures had to adapt, just like you would if you tried running on grass after swimming. Some became the ancestors of today’s insects, and others led to plants growing on land.
So even though life started in the ocean, it didn’t stay there forever, it jumped out, played on land, and never looked back! 🌊➡️🌿It’s like asking how many times kids jumped into a pool to play, but from the ocean!
Examples
- A fish climbed out of the ocean and became a lizard.
- Plants moved from water to land, like algae becoming moss.
- Tiny creatures on the shore started living on land instead of in the sea.
