How Were the Pyramids Actually Built?

The pyramids were built by lots of people working together, just like how you and your friends build a big sandcastle at the beach.

The workers took big pieces of rock from nearby hills, like picking up large bricks to make a wall. They used simple tools, like copper chisels, to shape these rocks into smooth blocks, just like you use sticks and stones to build forts in your backyard.

Then, they rolled the blocks on logs, like rolling toy cars across the floor. This made it easier to move them up long ramps to the top of the pyramid, where other workers put them into place, just like stacking building blocks one by one.

They worked in shifts, taking turns so no one got too tired. Over many years, these hard-working people built something truly amazing: a giant staircase to the sky!
