Should I refrigerate eggs?

Eggs are like sleepy little astronauts, they can stay out in space (the kitchen) or go to sleep in a cool spaceship (the fridge).

Eggs don’t need the fridge to be happy, but sometimes they want a break from being on the counter all day. If you keep them at room temperature, like next to your cereal bowl, they’re fine for a few weeks. But if it’s hot outside or you live in a warm house, they might get a little tired and start to feel wobbly inside.

If you put them in the fridge, they’ll stay fresh longer, like going on a cool vacation. It’s kind of like how your backpack feels better after being in the freezer for a while instead of sitting by the window all day.

What about when you use them?

When you cook with eggs, it doesn’t matter if they were in the fridge or not, they’ll still be good! So whether they’re sleeping in the fridge or just hanging out on the counter, they're ready to help make your pancakes, omelets, or even a sunny-side-up egg for breakfast.
