What are architects?

Architects are people who design buildings and spaces so that they look good and work well for the people who use them.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite building blocks, architects are like super-duper builders who plan out how to stack those blocks before you even start. They think about how big a room should be, where the windows go, what color the walls might be, and whether the stairs will be easy to climb.

Sometimes architects work on big buildings, like schools or libraries, places where lots of people come together. Other times, they design small spaces, like homes or parks, places that are just right for you and your friends to play.

They use drawings and models, kind of like maps that show what the building will look like when it's finished. These help them see if everything fits together nicely, just like how you check if all your blocks match before you build a tower.

Architects make sure buildings are not only pretty but also safe and fun to be in, like how your favorite playground is both colorful and strong enough for you to run and jump on.
