What are basketball players?

Basketball players are people who run, jump, and throw a ball to try and score points in a game called basketball.

Imagine you're playing tag with your friends, but instead of just running after each other, you have a special ball and a hoop. That’s what basketball is like!

Basketball players use their bodies to move around the court, catch the ball, and shoot it into a hoop. Some are really fast, like when you zoom past your brother on your bike. Others are strong, like when you lift up a big backpack full of toys.

Each player has a job, just like in a team game at school. Some pass the ball to their friends, some try to stop the other team from scoring, and some aim for the hoop, like throwing a dart at a target.

Sometimes, players work together like a group of kids building a big tower with blocks. They pass, dribble, and shoot as one!
