What are cities?

A city is like a big neighborhood where lots of people live together and work every day.

Imagine you have a toy box full of little blocks, each block represents a person or a house. When you put all those blocks together in one place, it starts to look like a small town. Now imagine doing that with thousands of blocks, that’s what a city looks like! It has streets where people walk and cars drive, buildings where people live or work, and places to eat, play, and meet friends.

A city isn’t just a group of houses. It has special areas for different things, like a place where you can buy food (a market) or learn new things (a school). Some cities even have places to see movies, ride trains, or dance in the rain!

Cities are not always the same, they get bigger as more people move there. It's like when your family adds a new room to your house. A city might start small, but over time it can become huge, with tall buildings, wide roads, and even parks where you can run around and play.

Just like how your neighborhood changes over the years, a city keeps growing and changing too!
