What are collaboration deals?

Collaboration deals are when two people or groups team up to make something neither could make alone. Imagine you have red crayons and your friend has blue crayons. If you only use your red ones, your picture is incomplete. But if you swap and mix colors, you both get to draw a beautiful purple landscape that looks much better than separate pictures.

Think of your favorite cereal box. Sometimes the box says “Includes a free toy!” That toy comes from a toy company, while the cereal comes from a food company. They made a deal: the food company puts the toy in the box, and the toy company lets them use the toy design.

This is a partnership. Both sides gain something. The cereal seller gets to sell more boxes because kids want the toy. The toy maker gets to show off their design to new customers. This is called cross-promotion in business, but for a five-year-old, it is just sharing to make things bigger and better.
