What Crops Are Like
Imagine you have a special box of seeds. When you plant them in soil and water them every day, they grow into big, juicy vegetables or tasty fruits, that’s what crops are! Farmers do this on a much bigger scale, using huge fields instead of little boxes.
How Crops Are Used
Some crops are like your favorite snacks: carrots, tomatoes, and corn. Others can be turned into things you use every day, like bread (from wheat) or candy (from sugar cane). Just like how you might grow beans in a jar to watch them sprout, farmers grow crops so we all have food to eat, and sometimes even toys to play with!
