What are different languages?

Different languages are ways people talk to each other, just like different toys make different kinds of fun.

Imagine you and your friend both have a box of blocks. You say "red block" when you want the red one, but your friend says "blue brick" for the blue one. That’s like having different languages, it's how people use special words to mean things in their own way.
