What are different names?

A name is like a label that tells us who or what something is, and sometimes, people have more than one label for the same thing.

Imagine you have a favorite toy, maybe a red ball. You might call it "my red ball," but your friend could say "that bouncy round thing." Both of you are talking about the same toy, just using different names for it.

Why do things have different names?

Sometimes people use short names or long names, like how your full name might be "Emily Grace Johnson," but your friends call you "Em."

Other times, a thing has many names because of where it comes from. Like the same fruit can be called an "apple" in one place and "manzana" in another, they're just different words for the same fruit.

Names are like nicknames

Think about your favorite superhero or cartoon character. They might have a real name, like "Bruce Wayne," but everyone knows them by their nickname, "Batman." That's just another way of saying the same person!

So, different names are like different labels, they help us talk about things in ways that make sense to us. A name is like a label that tells us who or what something is, and sometimes, people have more than one label for the same thing.
