What are distinct layers?

Imagine you're stacking layers like slices of cake, each one is a different flavor, and they all fit together to make something special.

Think about your favorite sandwich. It has bread, then maybe some cheese, then meat, and finally more bread on top. Each part is a layer that makes the whole sandwich taste better, you can’t just have meat without bread, or cheese without anything to hold it together!

Now think about your room. You walk on the floor, then there’s a rug on top of it. Above that are tables, and on them are your books and toys. Each one is like a layer, they all sit on top of each other, but you can still tell them apart.

Just like how the sandwich has different parts stacked up, or how your room has things in order, distinct layers mean there are separate pieces that work together to make something bigger and more interesting!
