What are domestic audiences?

Domestic audiences are the people who live in the same country as the show or movie they're watching.

Imagine you’re sitting on your couch, watching a cartoon about a talking cat who lives in a city just like yours. That's domestic, it’s happening right at home, in your own country. The people watching that cartoon are your audience, which means they’re the ones enjoying the show with you.

What Makes Them Special

Think of domestic audiences like friends who live next door. They know the streets, the stores, and maybe even the same schools you go to. When a show is made for them, it uses things they see every day, like your favorite ice cream flavor or the park near your house.

On the other hand, if the cartoon was about a talking cat in another country, with different food and clothes, that would be for a foreign audience, like friends who live far away. But here, we're focused on the ones right at home!
