What are electronic switches?

Electronic switches are like light switches that can be controlled by electricity instead of your hand.

Imagine you're playing with a toy car. When you press a button on the remote control, the car starts moving. That’s because an electronic switch inside the toy car is turning something on, like the motor. If you let go of the button, it turns off again.

How They Work

Think of an electronic switch as a door between two rooms. When the door is open, electricity can flow through and make your toy car move. When the door is closed, no electricity flows through, so the car stops.

Sometimes you need more than one switch to control something. Like when you have a hallway with lights, one switch at each end of the hall. If either switch is turned on or off, it changes the light in the whole hallway!

These switches are really small and can be used in lots of places, like your phone, your TV, or even your smartwatch!
