Encryption is like giving your secret message a special cloak so only the right person can see it.

Imagine you and your friend have a secret language, you change every word into something else before sending it. That way, if someone else sees it, they won’t understand what you’re saying.

Let’s say you want to tell your friend about a surprise party. You write “Party at 5!” but instead of sending that message directly, you change each letter using a simple rule, like shifting every letter one step forward in the alphabet (A becomes B, B becomes C, and so on). This is like putting on a cloak for your message.

Your friend knows the same rule, so when they get the message, they can shift the letters back to read it as “Party at 5!”

Sometimes, messages are sent over places where others might peek, like sending notes through a crowded playground. Using encryption is like having a secret tunnel only you and your friend know about, no one else can see what’s going on inside!
