What are hardware failures?

Hardware failures are when the stuff that makes your gadgets work stops working, just like how a broken toy can stop being fun.

Imagine you have a robot friend named Roxy who helps you build legos. Inside Roxy, there are tiny parts, like her brain, eyes, and hands, that let her do cool things. But sometimes those parts get tired or break, just like when your favorite toy breaks after too many drops.

What Causes Hardware Failures?

  • Tiny parts getting tired: Like how you might feel sleepy after playing all day, the tiny parts inside gadgets can get worn out from being used a lot.
  • Too much heat or cold: If Roxy is near a hot stove or in the freezer, her parts might not work as well.
  • Getting bumped or dropped: Just like if your toy breaks when you drop it, gadgets can also break if they’re jostled around too much.

When these things happen, Roxy (or your gadget) might stop working, but don’t worry! You can fix her, just like you fix broken toys.
