What are hierarchical grids?

A hierarchical grid is like a stack of different-sized cookie sheets that help you organize things more easily.

Imagine you're sorting your toy blocks. If you just have one big table to put them all on, it might get messy and hard to find the right block when you need it. But if you use smaller tables too, like putting red blocks on a small table next to the big one, it’s easier to see where everything is.

That's what a hierarchical grid does. It uses different levels of grids, like layers in a cake, to help organize information or objects. The bigger grid might show all your toys at once, while the smaller ones zoom in on just parts of them, like red blocks or cars.

Think about a map. A big grid could be like a city map that shows everything, streets, buildings, and parks. But if you want to look closer at one park, you might use a smaller grid inside the big one, showing just the paths and trees in that park.

This way, it's easier to find what you're looking for without getting lost in too much detail all at once.
