What are high entry barriers?

High entry barriers are like big, strong gates that make it hard for new people to join a game or start a club.

Imagine you and your friends have a super fun lemonade stand. You all work together, know the best ways to squeeze lemons, and even have a special secret recipe. Now, someone new wants to open their own lemonade stand nearby. But they have to buy a really expensive cart, pay for a big sign, and maybe even get a license from the town, all before they can start selling. These things are like high entry barriers: they make it harder for new people to join in.

Why They Matter

If there are high entry barriers, only the strongest or richest players can join the game. It's like having to climb a tall hill just to play, some kids might not have the energy or tools to do that, but you and your friends might be able to keep winning for a long time.

But if someone finds a way around those gates, maybe they share a cart or get help from the town, they can join in too!
