What are ideologies?

Ideologies are like the rules and goals that guide a group of people when they're playing a big game together.

Imagine you and your friends are building a castle with blocks in the playground. Some of you want to make the tallest tower, others want the biggest wall, and some just want it to look cool. Each of those ideas, wanting the tallest tower, the biggest wall, or the coolest look, is like an ideology. It’s what helps people decide how to work together and what they’re trying to achieve.

Different Ways to Play

Sometimes, everyone agrees on one way to build the castle, that’s like having a single ideology. But other times, groups might split up: one group builds a tower, another makes a wall, and they each think their way is best. That’s like having different ideologies in the same game.

Ideologies can change too. If someone new joins the game and suggests building a moat around the castle, that’s a new idea, maybe even a new ideology for the group!
