What are likes?

A like is when someone says something is good or they enjoy it.

Imagine you're at a park and there’s a slide you really love to play on. Every time you go down the slide, you feel happy. If your friend sees you having fun and also wants to play on that slide, they might say, “That's my favorite slide too!” That means they like it just like you do.

When someone clicks a like button on a phone or computer, it’s like giving something a thumbs-up. It shows others that you think the thing is cool or fun, maybe it's a picture of ice cream, a video of dancing cats, or even a silly joke.

People like things because they make them feel happy, surprised, or entertained. Just like how you might like chocolate cake because it tastes amazing, other people might like a game because it’s fun to play with friends.
