A mixture is when you combine different things, just like when you mix your favorite snacks in a bag.
What’s a compound?
Mixture of multiple compounds
Now imagine you have several kinds of chocolate milk, each made from different flavors or brands. When you pour them all into one big container, you get a mixture of multiple compounds. Each kind of chocolate milk is still its own compound, but now they're just jumbled together like toys in a toy box.
You can still tell them apart if you look closely, maybe by color or taste, and you could even separate them again if you wanted to. That's what makes it a mixture, the parts stay mostly as they are, just hanging out together. A mixture is when you combine different things, just like when you mix your favorite snacks in a bag.
