"What are not trying new things?" means you're staying with what you know and not exploring anything different.
Imagine you have a favorite toy, maybe it's a red ball that bounces really well. You play with it every day, and it’s super fun. But one day, someone gives you a blue cube that can roll in all directions. That's a new thing.
If you just keep playing with your red ball and ignore the blue cube, you're not trying new things. It's like you’re wearing the same socks every day, they're comfortable, but maybe there’s a cooler pair out there!
Why would someone not try new things?
Sometimes, people are scared of what might happen if they try something different. Maybe they think the blue cube won’t be as fun as the red ball. Or maybe they just really like their socks and don’t want to change.
But if you give the blue cube a try, even for just a little while, you might find out it’s even more fun! That's how we learn and grow, one new thing at a time.
Examples
- A kid refuses to try a new food because they're afraid it might taste bad.
- An adult stays at the same job for years, even though they know there are better options.
- A person avoids asking for help because they think they should handle everything alone.
