What are ovaries?

Ovaries are like tiny factories inside your body that help make babies.

Think of them as special workers in a kitchen, they cook up eggs, which are needed for making babies when you grow up. Just like how a kitchen has different jobs, each ovary does its own part.

How They Work

Each person has two ovaries, one on each side of the body, hidden inside the pelvis, kind of like having two little helpers in your lower tummy area.

Every month or so, one of these factories sends out an egg to travel through a tube called the fallopian tube, where it might meet up with a sperm to start making a baby. It's like sending out a message: "Hey, is anyone ready for a new friend?"

Sometimes you can’t see them, but they’re always working hard, just like your favorite toy that keeps going even when you're not playing with it!
