Primary emotions are the basic feelings that everyone has, like when you're happy, sad, or surprised, they’re simple and easy to understand.
Imagine you have a box of crayons. Each crayon is a different color, and each color represents a primary emotion. There are only a few crayons in this special box, maybe six or seven, but with them, you can draw almost anything!
The Simple Box of Feelings
In this box, you might find:
- Happiness, like when you get your favorite ice cream.
- Sadness, like when you lose your toy.
- Anger, like when someone takes your snack without asking.
- Fear, like when you hear a loud noise at night.
- Surprise, like when your friend jumps out from behind the couch!
- Disgust, like when you taste something really sour.
These are the simplest feelings, they show up in every kid’s life, just like crayons show up in every drawing. You don’t need a whole rainbow to feel something big, just one or two colors can make a beautiful picture!
