What Makes Stars Shine
Stars are big, hot balls of gas, mostly hydrogen and helium, in space. When they’re born, they start to burn, just like a firework explodes in the sky. This burning happens because the gas inside them is under a lot of pressure and heat, causing tiny particles to crash into each other very fast.
How Stars Are Like Fireworks
A firework starts with a small spark, that’s like the beginning of a star. As it burns, it gets brighter and bigger, just like how fireworks light up the sky in colorful bursts. Some stars are really big and bright, kind of like the biggest fireworks you’ve ever seen on New Year's Eve!
When stars get old, they can explode in a huge flash, just like a firework that goes whoosh! and leaves behind bright colors. These explosions sometimes create new stars or planets, making the universe even more interesting.
Examples
- When stars die, they can create colorful explosions that light up space.
