Status effects are fun changes that happen to something or someone while they’re doing an activity, like playing a game or having fun.
Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy car on the floor. Suddenly, it starts moving faster than usual! That’s like getting a speed boost, one kind of status effect. Or maybe it gets stuck in the middle of the room and can’t move at all, that’s like being slowed down, another kind of status effect.
Like Getting Extra Powers
Sometimes, when you're playing with your friends, you might get extra powers for a while. For example, if you're pretending to be a superhero and someone says "You’re invincible!" then you can’t be knocked over, that’s like having the invincible status effect.
Or Like Being Bothered
On the other hand, sometimes things can get harder. If your toy car gets stuck in the middle of a puddle and it's hard to move forward, that’s like being stuck, or maybe even poisoned if you're pretending to be in a fantasy world.
Status effects are just like these fun little changes that make games (or pretend play) more exciting!
Examples

- An object becomes invisible because of a spell.
- A player is 'stunned' and can't move for a few seconds.
