What are telecommunications?

Telecommunications are ways to send messages from one place to another, just like how you talk to your friend across the room.

Like a Telephone Line

Imagine you have a telephone in your house, and your friend has one too. When you pick up the phone and say “hello,” your voice travels through wires or signals in the air until it reaches your friend’s phone. That’s telecommunications, it lets people talk to each other even if they are far apart.

Like Sending a Letter

It's also like sending a letter in the mail. When you write a note and put it in an envelope, someone else can read it when it arrives at their house. In this case, the message travels through a post office instead of a phone line, but it’s still telecommunications!

Telecommunications help people all over the world talk, share pictures, watch videos, and even play games together, like magic, but with real wires or signals!
