What are temperate rainforests?

Temperate rainforests are like giant, green libraries filled with trees, animals, and rain that never stops reading stories.

Imagine walking into a room where it's always warm, there’s lots of plants, and the air is full of sounds from birds and squirrels. That’s a temperate rainforest! These forests are in places like the Pacific Northwest of the United States or parts of Europe. They get a lot of rain all year round, so much that it feels like the sky is crying nonstop.

The Big, Happy Trees

In these forests, there are huge trees with long, soft leaves, kind of like the ones you might find in a park, but even bigger! These trees live together and help each other grow. They’re like best friends who never stop talking or playing.

A Home for Many Friends

Because it’s always wet and warm, lots of animals and plants can live there too, from little insects to big bears. It's like a giant, living neighborhood where everyone has space and food all year long.

Temperate rainforests are special because they keep everything happy, plants, animals, and even the air we breathe!
