The French Revolution happened because people got tired of being treated unfairly and wanted more freedom and fairness.
Imagine you're in a big school where the principal is very strict and takes all the best toys for themselves, while the other kids have to share broken ones. That’s kind of what was happening in France, the king and his friends had most of the good stuff, like money and land, while most people, especially farmers and workers, had barely enough to get by.
The King Wasn't Happy Either
The king, Louis XVI, wasn’t doing very well financially. He had a lot of debts from fancy clothes, wars, and even a few parties. It was like if you had too many ice cream cones and couldn’t pay for them, your piggy bank would be empty in no time!
People Started to Protest
When the king kept taking more money from people and things got worse, people started to protest, just like when kids in a classroom get together to say they want better snacks. Eventually, they even kicked out the king and tried to make a new kind of government, one where people had more say.
So, unfairness, debt, and a lot of frustration all came together to start the French Revolution!
