What does it mean to be genuinely authentic?

Being genuinely authentic means being your real self, not pretending to be someone else.

Imagine you have a favorite toy, maybe it’s a teddy bear that always makes you laugh. If you’re being genuinely authentic, you’ll play with your teddy bear the way you like, even if other kids do it differently. You don’t need to hide who you are or change how you feel just because others are doing something else.

What's the difference between "being real" and "pretending"?

Sometimes, people wear masks, like when they put on a party hat at a birthday party. That’s fun! But if you're genuinely authentic, you take off that mask when it's time to be yourself again. You might still love the party hat, but you don’t need it all the time.

Why is being real important?

When you’re genuinely authentic, people around you can see who you really are. That makes it easier for them to like you and understand you, just like how your teddy bear knows exactly what makes you happy!
