Like Counting on Your Fingers (But with a Twist)
Imagine you have 10 fingers. You can count up to 10 easily, that’s like counting on your hands. But if you had more fingers, or even extra ones growing out of your arms, you could count much higher.
Back in 1024, people used a special kind of counting called binary, which is like using only two numbers: 0 and 1, just like switches that are either on or off. If each finger was a switch, having 10 fingers meant you could count up to 1,023. So when people reached 1,024, it was like turning on one more switch, and suddenly, they had a new way to count and solve problems!
It’s like getting a bigger number box to hold all your toys, now you can fit way more in!
