What if you kept digging downward, like you're trying to find treasure in your backyard?
Imagine you're playing a game where you dig a hole, deeper and deeper, as if you’re trying to reach the bottom of the Earth. At first, you might find dirt, then rocks, and maybe some water. But what happens when you keep going?
What’s Down There?
If you kept digging all the way through the Earth, you'd finally pop out on the other side, like jumping into a pool from one end and coming up at the other! You’d be on the opposite side of the world, but it would still feel like you're just digging deeper.
What if You Went Even Further?
Now imagine there's something beneath the Earth, not just dirt or rocks. Maybe there’s a big ball of hot rock and metal that makes our planet move and shake. That’s what scientists call the core. It’s like a giant, glowing engine inside the Earth! If you kept digging even further, you might find it, but don’t worry, you’d probably need a really strong shovel (or maybe even a spaceship)!
