What is Assisted GPS?

Assisted GPS is like getting help from a friend to find your way faster.

Imagine you're playing hide and seek, and instead of counting by yourself, someone tells you how many steps you've taken. That helps you guess where the others might be hiding, much quicker than if you had to count every step on your own.

GPS is like a special map that uses satellites to tell you where you are. But sometimes it takes time for the map to figure out your location, especially if you're inside a building or in a busy city with lots of tall buildings around.

That’s where Assisted GPS, or AGPS, comes in. It's like having a friend who already knows part of the answer. Your phone can use information from nearby cell towers or Wi-Fi networks to get a head start on figuring out your location. This means you don’t have to wait as long for the full map to load, it’s much quicker, just like knowing some steps ahead in hide and seek.

So Assisted GPS helps your phone find where you are faster by using help from other things around you, like cell towers or Wi-Fi. It's like having a little helper who makes finding places easier and quicker!
