Binary Feedback: The On/Off Control Loop

Binary feedback is a simple system where you only get two possible answers: yes or no. It is like a light switch that is either on or off, with no middle ground.

How It Works

Imagine you are playing a game with a friend. You ask, "Did you like the cake?" If they nod, that is a positive signal. If they shake their head, that is a negative signal. There are no half-measures. It is not "sort of liked it" or "maybe." It is just yes or no.

Think about a doorbell. When you press it, it either rings or it does not. It does not ring "a little bit." The machine listening only understands these two states. This makes computers happy because they speak in a language of zeros and ones. Zero means off or no. One means on or yes.

This is how your computer knows if a file is saved or not saved.
