Breaking is when something that was whole or working suddenly stops working or changes shape because it got hurt.
Imagine you have a chocolate bar, it's all together and tasty. Now imagine you drop it on the floor, and poof! It cracks into pieces. That’s breaking. The chocolate bar used to be one piece, but now it’s many little pieces because it got hurt.
Like a Toy Car
Think of your favorite toy car, it rolls smoothly across the floor. But if you run into it with another toy or kick it really hard, snap! It might break in two. Now it can’t roll as well anymore. That's breaking too.
Just like the chocolate bar and the toy car, many things around you, like cups, pencils, even your phone, can break if they get hurt badly enough. And when that happens, they don't work or look the same anymore.
