What is captain?

A captain is someone who leads a team or group, just like how a parent leads you and your brothers and sisters during a game.

Like the Leader of a Team

Imagine you and your friends are playing a big game of hide-and-seek. The person who decides where to hide everyone, when to start counting, and how to make the game fair is the captain of that game. That's what a captain does, they help make sure everything goes smoothly.

Just Like a Teacher or a Coach

A captain can also be like your teacher or coach. They give instructions, cheer you on when things get tough, and sometimes even step in to solve problems. If someone is being too loud during the game, the captain might say, "Let’s all take turns talking so everyone can hear."

Being a captain means you're ready to lead, listen, and help your team win, just like you do when you’re playing with your best friends!
