What is Columbus?

Columbus is a city, just like the one you live in or visit on field trips.

Imagine your school has a big playground where all the kids from different classes come together to play, that’s kind of what Columbus is, but for people. It's a place where many people live, work, and have fun. Columbus is in Ohio, which is like a big state in the middle of the United States.

Columbus has lots of things going on. There are big buildings called skyscrapers that reach up high, like really tall towers. People go to special places called museums where they can learn about art and history. There’s even a zoo with animals from all over the world.

Sometimes, Columbus is in the news because it hosts big events, like when people come together for games or concerts. It's like having the biggest birthday party ever!

Columbus also has parks where kids ride bikes and play soccer, just like you might do after school. So even though it’s a city, it still feels like a place where everyone can have fun!
