What is Compositing?

Compositing is when you mix different pictures together to make one cool picture.

Imagine you're playing with building blocks. You have a red block, a blue block, and maybe even a green one. Each block is like a separate picture, maybe the red block is a person, the blue one is a tree, and the green one is the sky. When you put them together, it's like making a new scene with all of them in one place. That’s compositing!

Think of your favorite puzzle. Each piece is a little part of the whole picture. When you put the pieces together, you get a complete image, just like when artists or computer programs combine different parts of pictures to create something new.

Sometimes, they might use special effects, like making one object look like it's behind another. It’s like stacking your blocks in a certain way so that one looks like it’s hiding behind the others.

Compositing is used in movies and video games, and even in photos you take with your phone! It’s just like mixing up your toys to make a fun new world.
